BARBUDO MAGNOLIA MANSION

South Coast feel-good funk purveyors Barbudo have shone a little ray of light onto this otherwise grey day with their nostalgic new cut 'Magnolia Mansion'. Despite their youth, the duo's accomplished brand of soulful, psychedelia-inspired disco-funk transports us to the twinkling glitter-ball lit dance floors of the 70s as tasteful slap bass and Nile Rogers-esque guitar work mingle freely beneath vocalist/guitarist Harry Stanworth's uninhibited vocal style. Born out of hours of experimentation with an old tape machine, the brothers explain: “Magnolia mansion is in itself an ideal -  a place in the ether, that we all can transport to when the sun is beaming down but at the same time encourages us to think about change within and without, linking escapism and personal discovery.” Listen here now. -Holly Mullineaux
